82km Bida-Minna road to be delivered in 24 months, says Chairman, New Niger Development Project

The Chairman, New Niger Development Project (NNDP), Alhaji Mustapha Abubakar-Bida has assured that Niger Government under Gov. Mohammed Umaru-Bago led administration will complete
the construction of 82km Minna-Katayeregi-Bida road in 24 months.
According to Abubakar-Bida, this is in order to boost the socio-economic activities of the people of the area.
The Chairman who is also the Sarkin Dawaki Nupe made this known in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Minna.
He said that Gov. Umar Bago of the state has performed the ground breaking for the construction of the road on May/ 9/2024.
Abubakar-Bida said that the road, if completed, would also boost the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) and improve on the standard of living of the people.
“After the ground breaking of the road, we are hoping that within the next 24 months , the road will be delivered.
“People should be rest assured to see one of the best roads not just in Nigeria because the road has been designed with international standard.
“It is a road that is dual carriage way, it has street lights from both ends and you can drive on the road anytime,,” he said
Sarkin Dawaki said that the road would be built to a test that will last for 50 years.
“The facilities that the road is coming with is of international standard and people are going to be enlightened on life issues of HIV/AIDS and other things.
“On the stretch of the road, we are going to have three major international markets, the Yam Market, International Market are embedded in the market with pedestrian bridges.
“The major towns across the road will enjoy the facilities of feeder roads. Facilities are embedded into the contract,” he explained.
He also said that education is embedded in the contract considering its importance to human and societal development.
“Classrooms are embedded into the contract, classrooms will be built and we are happy that during our time, this project is coming into reality.
”
The best road in Nigeria will be built in Niger state by God’s grace and our names will be written in gold,” he said.
The Chairman, New Niger Development Project appreciated Gov. Bago for his developmental efforts in the state and called for its sustenance.
He called on the people of the state to continue to pray and support Bago’s administration to succeed in order to enjoy more dividends of democracy.
