The Niger state Governor have assures Judiciary for the supply of second batch of vehicle’s for magistrate to facilitate their movement most especially those in the rural areas in the state.
The Governor disclosed this at the MAN Week 2022 opening ceremony organized by the Magistrates Association of Nigeria, Niger state branch Minna, promise that the state Governor is aware of difficulties been faced by the Magistrates in rural area especially in the area of transportation.
The Governor who was represented by the Commissioner of Transport, Barr Tanko Zakari,assures Judiciary that the Governor is going to quickly tackle the issue of funding the Organization is currently facing.
He said because of the importance the Governor attached to the sector, he has promised to partner with the Judiciary to work acidously towards repositioning courts across the state.
In her speech at the occasion, the Chìef Judge of Niger state, Justice Halima I Abdulmalik, call on the Governor to see the welfare of Magistrate as a top priority, stressing that this will serve as motivation to resist enticement of all forms that are capable of compromising the rectitude of their judicial function’s.
The Chìef Judge promise to liase with the office of the Director Public prosecution in the state ministry of Justice to introduce a Case filtering system as a way to decongestion of Magistrate courts in the state.
“may i at this juncture remind His Excellency that you are yet to fully redeem your promise of providing vehicles for Magistrate’s”,she also appeals to the Governor to give assent to the Bill on “Harmonization of condition’s of service of Magistrate’s, Sharia Judge’s, State Counsel’s and Draftsmen 2022”.
Earlier in her speech the Chairman of Magistrate Association of Nigeria Niger state branch, Her worship Hauwa Kulu Isa, stated that this Year’s theme of the MAN WEEK celebration,is to bring to fore the ever changing trends in law and procedure in the administration of justice which they most prepare to grapple with in the discharge of their duties.
She Commend the state House of Assembly for the passege of the must awaited Bill on Administration of criminal justice into law which according to her remain Me Governor to Assent.
She stressed that with the title of the theme, “Repositioning the Magistracy to keep with the Dynamics in the Administration of Justice, was carefully chosen to inculcate effectiveness to seek and strive at their level of the Judiciary.
