Thirty person Convicted to 30 days community service for illegal minning in Maitumbi, Niger State.

Minna Chief Magistrate Court one Presided over by Ummulkhaltume Mohammed has convicted thirty person to thirty days for community service for engaging on illegal mining along maitumbi area in Minna Niger State.
The suspects according to the Police first information report were arrested by a team of task force attached to the state ministry of mine and mineral resources early this month.
According to the Prosecutor they were arrianged before the court on two count charges bordering criminal conspiracy and illegal mining which contravenes section 97,and 474 of the penal code law.
Police proscutor lnspector Bello Mohammed told the court that some of the suspects were minors and house wives who had earlier confessed to the crime.
The suspects pleaded guilty to the charges saying that they were out to struggle to make ends meet while some of the suspects told the court that they use the money realized to pay for their school fees.and plead to the court for forgiveness.
The Magistrate Ummulkhaltume while considering their plea convicted the suspects to engage in general cleaning of Maitumbi Primary School and Day Secondary School for the period of thirty days under the supervision of Sakin Hausawan maitumbi,adding that any person who default will be liable to pay a fine of five million naira. .
The Magistrate also frowned as why the security Agents arrested only the miners without the buyers of the product, adding that without buyer there would be no miner and the convicted persons where made to write an undertaken not go back to the business again.
