Niger CP hosts Commissioner of Information,assured collaboration in security information sharing.
The Niger state Commissioner of Police, CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman, MNIPs, received the Honorable Commissioner of the Ministry of Information and Orientation, Honorable Obed Nuhu Nana, along with his entourage, during a courtesy visit at the State Police Command Headquarters in Dutsen-Kura, Minna.
In his remarks, the Honorable Commissioner expressed gratitude to the Police Commissioner for the warm reception, despite his busy schedule.
He conveyed the Niger State Government’s appreciation to the police force for their dedication and sacrifices in fighting crime, which have significantly improved the state’s security.
He explained that the visit aimed to strengthen collaboration between the ministry and the police, focusing on strategic communication, public information management, and coordinated efforts to promote peace, order, and security.
He highlighted recent reforms, including the recruitment and training of over 150 Information Officers to improve grassroots information dissemination across all 25 Local Government Areas.
Honorable Nana emphasized the challenge posed by misinformation and false narratives and detailed initiatives introduced to ensure the flow of accurate, credible information to build public trust and foster good governance.
He praised the positive relationship with the police and expressed willingness to deepen collaboration for the benefit of the state.
