REJOINDER : MPHCDA Denies owing Midwives on contract scheme.
Ministry of primary health care Niger state has refuted the non payment of six months salaries of the 200 BHCPF -MSS midwives health workers on contract scheme employed in 2022 as false and no iota of truth in it.
The Director of health planning and statistics,Dr Inuwa Janaidu stated this to news men in his office, while expressing his displeasure over the recent publication on social media alleging that the 200 midwives staff employed through the Basic Health care provision fund BHCPF have not been paid for about six months .
DR, Janaidu said such categories of staff were employed across the 25 Local government areas of the state,is a scheme which is to provide essential services to primary health care facilities across the state.
He however acknowledged the two months delay of salary as part of the delay of release of funds from the BHCPF/ Miss which has been received and paid to the beneficiaries accordingly.
According to the Director the source of the report did not put his facts correctly, and published that six months salaries have not been paid,the assertion on the affected midwives and their families is over exaggerated.
He further explained that no outstanding payment regarding such categories of workers, adding that the 200 midwives were placed on stipends of 62,000 Naira each per month,”we are now waiting for the next trench of funding this August”Dr,Inuwa reinterated.
He disclosed that majority of women that have benefited from the scheme,Salima Mohamed, and Aishat Ummi have narrated how their livelihood was uplifted through the service provider of 62,000 monthly salaries which have been sustaining their families.
Among the 200 employed by BHCPF -MSS 54 of them have been employed in the state civil service in the recent recruitment of 1000 health workers.
