NLO Playoffs: Bida Lions Demand Investigation Over Lafia Center Results
The management of Bida Lions Football Club has officially raised concerns about the conduct of the ongoing Nationwide League One (NLO) playoffs at the Lafia center in Nasarawa State.
In a statement signed by the club secretary, El-Shafee Mohammed, the club expressed dissatisfaction with what it called a suspicious result in the final group match between Flight FC of Gboko, Benue State, and Mighty Jets Feeders of Jos, which ended 9–3 in favor of the Plateau State team.
The statement pointed out that the result allowed Mighty Jets Feeders, who had previously lost to Bida Lions, to top the group on goal difference. The club considers this development questionable and believes it warrants investigation.
Bida Lions also criticized the organizers for not scheduling the final group matches at the same time, describing the decision as a departure from established competition standards and best practices.
The club emphasized that such irregularities could undermine the integrity, fairness, and credibility of the competition.
As a result, Bida Lions Football Club has called for a thorough investigation into the circumstances of the match and a review of the qualification process to ensure transparency and uphold the league’s integrity.
