Niger State Commissioner Highlights Strategic Elevation of Traditional Districts to Bolster Security and Unity
The Niger State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Hon. Obed Nuhu Nana, emphasized that elevating traditional districts is a strategic move aimed at enhancing security, fostering harmony, and strengthening unity among residents of the Federal Capital Territory.
Hon. Nana made these remarks during his turbaning and coronation as Dan Masani of Wyiku (Barangoni) in the Bwari Area Council of the FCT.
He commended the Federal Capital Territory Administration, led by Nyesom Wike, for its efforts in upgrading traditional institutions within the FCT, viewing this as a deliberate measure to reinforce grassroots leadership.
Describing the event as a significant milestone in his life, the Commissioner expressed gratitude to His Royal Highness, Danlami Ibrahim Nana, the area’s district head, for bestowing the honor upon him.
He pledged to honor the trust placed in him by working closely with other council chiefs to fulfill his responsibilities diligently, with integrity, and a dedicated focus on the welfare of the people.
The occasion featured vibrant traditional displays, certificate presentations, and a reception attended by dignitaries from both within and outside the FCT.
