PARA: Niger State Team Aims to Make the State Proud – NSSC Masu

A total of sixty-four players and eleven officials from Niger State’s Para Games team have finalized arrangements to participate in the ten-day Para National Games tournament scheduled for Abuja.
Addressing the players, Abdullahi Danjuma Masu, chairman of the Niger State Sports Commission, said the athletes have undergone intense training to bring pride to the state at the Abuja 2026 National Para Games festival.
He highlighted that the team is fully prepared in terms of welfare, insurance coverage, and safety measures to fly the Niger State flag high during the competition. He called for sacrifice, patriotism, commitment, and hard work to achieve success.
According to him, the administration of Niger State governor Mohammed Umar Bago continues to support young residents across all sectors, including para and able-bodied sports, providing equal opportunities for talent development.
Danjuma Masu emphasized that the state para team will compete in six sports, including para soccer, para table tennis, para judo, para athletics, para badminton, and nikwando, where the state has significant chances to excel rather than just participate.
Head Coach Ismaila Mohammed stated that the team is prepared for the upcoming competition and expressed confidence in bringing home gold medals, as they have done before. He also praised the current leadership of the sports commission for its dedication to elevating sports in Niger State.
Additionally, the General Captain of Team Niger, Muktar Ahmed, reiterated their unwavering commitment to victory in their respective events after rigorous training in the state.
