APC North Central Congress Endorses President Tinubu as Final Presidential Candidate
The APC North Central Congress, held at the Akwe Doma Banquet Hall in the Government House in Lafia, Nasarawa State, has endorsed President Tinubu as the sole candidate for the 2027 presidential election.
During the event, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, moved to adopt President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the only APC candidate for 2027. Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule seconded the motion.
In his remarks, the SGF acknowledged Nigeria’s upcoming electoral cycle and expressed confidence that the North Central region, with its influential leadership, will strongly support President Tinubu’s ongoing efforts toward the Renewed Hope agenda.
He praised APC governors for their outstanding performance and highlighted the crucial contributions of the North Central zone to the country’s development.
APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, represented by Deputy National Secretary Prof. Abdulkarim Abubakar Kana, congratulated the newly inaugurated zonal officials and urged them to serve as true representatives of the party’s core values.
He stressed the strategic importance of the North Central region for the APC and reaffirmed that the region’s loyalty to President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda is vital for the administration’s stability.
National Vice Chairman of the APC North Central, Mu’azu Bawa Rijau, expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and committed to continuing his dedication to the party’s progress.
Participants at the North Central Congress included the Zonal Chairman, all Past Zonal Chairmen, Zonal Executive Officers, current and former State Governors from the zone, as well as serving and former members of the National Assembly (Senate and House of Reps) who are APC members.
Additional statutory delegates included serving and former Principal Officers of the State Houses of Assembly within the zone, State Party Chairmen, all members of the National Executive Committee and the National Caucus from the zone, along with other delegates to the National Convention.
