Ndarani, SAN, Initiates Scholarship Program for Nupe Language Students
By Mohammed Baba Busu
Alhaji Mohammed Ndarani, SAN, a prominent legal expert, has announced the allocation of sponsorship for ten students pursuing the Nupe language at the university level.
Ndarani stated that the scholarship will be activated once the Nupe Language degree program, recently approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC), commences in 2025.
He disclosed that he has committed an undisclosed sum of millions of Naira to support students from levels 100 to 400.
The distinguished lawyer explained that his motivation was inspired by the relentless efforts of Nupe language advocates who worked tirelessly to institutionalize the course at the tertiary level.
He regarded the approval as a historic milestone for the preservation of Nupe language and culture.
“We are fully prepared to support and formally launch the Nupe Language degree program once it begins. We will also engage our partners and benefactors to support our kingdom by sponsoring additional students.”
Ndarani expressed hope that, by God’s grace, this initiative will create opportunities for outstanding graduates to participate in international exchange programs after graduation.
The Senior Advocate of Nigeria reaffirmed his commitment to human capital development, cultural preservation, and academic advancement in Nupe land and beyond.
He emphasized that the scholarship will boost enrollment, reduce financial barriers for students, and strengthen efforts to sustain indigenous languages through formal education.
The approval of the Nupe Language degree program by the NUC has been widely celebrated as a significant breakthrough. Meanwhile, Ndarani’s support is anticipated to make a lasting positive impact on students and the wider Nupe community.
