Commissioner for Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs Launches Familiarisation Tour of State Departments and Agencies

The Honourable Commissioner for Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Hon. Abdulrazaq Mua’azu Jikantoro (Jakadan Borgu), has officially initiated his familiarisation and engagement tour across State Departments and Establishments (SDEs) under the Ministry. This marks a renewed commitment to service excellence, accountability, and institutional reform.
During his visit to SDGs, the Honourable Commissioner emphasized that understanding operational procedures and conducting strategic reviews of key offices and departments are essential for effective governance and fulfilling the Ministry’s mandate. He reiterated that collective responsibility, discipline, and teamwork are vital to strengthening the Ministry and its agencies.
He stated, “Every hand must be on deck as we work together to revitalize the Agency and develop institutions that are efficient, responsive, and results-oriented.”
Hon. Jikantoro warned that personal interests should not overshadow professionalism and emphasized unwavering dedication to public service. He affirmed that acts of arrogance would not be tolerated, and adherence to rules, due process, and institutional frameworks remain crucial.
“My goal is clear: to revive the Agency, foster a culture of responsibility, and leave a legacy rooted in impact, integrity, and measurable results. Together, we will achieve our objectives,” he declared.
In separate remarks, the Director of Accounts (SDGs) assured the Honourable Commissioner of full support for the Agency’s progress and commended his prompt and decisive leadership since taking office.
During the visit, the Commissioner inspected newly acquired Fire Service vehicles supplied by the Niger State Government through the Ministry. He advised that these vehicles be used judiciously and maintained strictly for emergencies and operational needs to improve service delivery and public safety across the state.
The Director of Water Fire Service welcomed the Commissioner warmly, pledging full cooperation and support to reposition the Agency towards operational excellence.
This familiarisation tour highlights the Honourable Commissioner’s commitment to fostering collaboration, improving institutional efficiency, and implementing meaningful reforms across all State Departments and Establishments under the Ministry.
