Niger State Governor Bago Visits Recruited Forest Guard Trainees to Boost Morale

Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, a farmer, recently visited the first group of forest guard trainees in the state.
The trainees were selected from all 25 local government areas.
The visit provided an opportunity for the governor, who is also a farmer, to engage with the trainees and uplift their spirits.
He congratulated the trainees, urged them to stay disciplined and resilient, and assured them of the state’s commitment to supporting them and ensuring their well-being.
The governor also announced that more recruits will be trained in groups to help secure communities across the state.
The Forest Guard project is a key initiative by the federal government, in partnership with state governments, to establish a permanent, armed, and locally based security force.
The goal is to reclaim Nigeria’s forests from criminal elements and protect the environment.
