Hon. Nma Kolo Lauds NSIEC for Peaceful Conduct and Strong Voter Turnout.
Hon. Mohammed Nma Kolo, Special Adviser on Political Matters, has praised the impressive voter turnout and the peaceful conduct of the recent local government councils elections in Niger State.
In a heartfelt statement during an interview with journalists at his polling unit while casting his vote, Kolo expressed gratitude to the citizens of Niger State for their exemplary behavior, emphasizing that elections should not be viewed as a matter of life and death.
He commended party leaders, particularly those within the Inter-Party Advisory Council, for promoting a culture of peace among various political factions in the state. “We are the most peaceful state in Nigeria politically,” Kolo stated, highlighting the absence of conflict among the parties.
Kolo also expressed appreciation for the Governor of Niger State, Hon. Mohammed Umar Bago, who fosters inclusivity and development, reflecting a commitment to the welfare of all residents, regardless of party affiliation.
Addressing ongoing disputes within the party in Paiko, Nma Kolo noted that conflicts are being resolved through legal channels, which he described as a sign of civility. “We encourage those who feel dissatisfied with any process to seek interpretations in court,” he explained, assuring that the All Progressives Congress (APC) remains united.
Kolo reported an overall excellent and smooth electoral process across the state’s 25 local government areas, emphasizing that voters were able to cast their ballots quickly and efficiently.
He thanked the Niger State Independent Electoral Commission for their efforts in conducting a credible, free, and fair election, reiterating that development in Niger State is intended for everyone, not just members of the APC.
