First Lady Sen. Oluremi Tinubu Donates N1 Billion to Disaster Victims in Niger State.

The Nigeria’s First Lady and National Chairman of the Renewed Hope Initiative, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, has donated One Billion Naira to Niger State to assist victims affected by floods, banditry, boat mishaps, and fire disasters. The donation was made during a formal ceremony at the Government House in Minna.
In addition to the financial contribution, Sen. Tinubu also delivered 2,000 bags of 50kg rice, 16,000 wrappers for women, and 100 pairs of shoes to the victims.
During the presentation, she expressed her deep sympathy for those affected by these calamities and conveyed her heartfelt condolences to Governor Umaru Bago and the people of Niger State.
Sen. Tinubu emphasized the importance of empathy and solidarity in times of crisis, stating her hope that the challenges faced by citizens can be surmounted.
She appreciated the swift response from the President and noted that the Renewed Hope Initiative’s support aims to complement government efforts in alleviating the suffering of those impacted.
Governor Umaru Bago expressed gratitude for the First Lady’s generosity, acknowledging her prior support for disaster victims.
He highlighted that her compassionate actions reflect exemplary leadership qualities and urged her to continue guiding the nation in the right direction.
Governor Bago also pointed out the vulnerability of Niger State to flooding due to its numerous water tributaries, reinforcing the state’s commitment to mitigating flood risks through various initiatives.
Alhaji Abubakar Usman, Secretary to the Niger State Government, commended the First Lady’s visit, describing it as a commendable gesture that has provided much-needed humanitarian relief to those who have endured significant suffering.
He expressed that the support has fostered a sense of belonging among the victims and showcased national solidarity.
Accompanying Sen. Tinubu at the event were the Wife of the Chief of Staff to the President and the wives of governors from several states, including Niger, Nasarawa, Ekiti, Katsina, Taraba, Bayelsa, Ogun, Gombe, Jigawa, Kaduna, and Kebbi.
The event garnered attendance from numerous dignitaries, including Niger State’s Deputy Governor Comrade Yakubu Garba, Senator Muhammad Sani Musa representing Niger East, and Minister of State for Agriculture Abdullahi Sabi, along with traditional leaders and members of the State Executive Council.
