First Lady of Nigeria, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, Launches Women Economic Empowerment Programme in Niger State.

The First Lady of Nigeria and National Chairman of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, officially launched an economic empowerment programme aimed at benefiting 18,500 women across the nation in Minna, the capital of Niger State.
This initiative, sponsored by the RHI in collaboration with the Tony Elumelu Foundation, is designed to support 500 women from each state and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja.
As part of the programme, each selected woman trader and small-scale business owner will receive a grant of N50,000. This funding is intended to help them recapitalize their businesses, provide for their families, educate their children, and uplift their communities.
Sen. Oluremi highlighted that the programme was launched simultaneously in both Niger and Adamawa States. She expressed her gratitude to the Tony Elumelu Foundation for its generous donation of N1 billion to the RHI, emphasizing the significance of this contribution in supporting women across the country.
In her remarks, Hajiya Fatima Umaru Bago, the wife of the Niger State Governor and State Coordinator of the RHI, praised the unwavering commitment of Sen. Oluremi toward the welfare of Nigerian women.She noted that the RHI is making a tangible and enduring impact in Niger State and nationally.
Hajiya Fatima Bago also recognized the partnership with the Tony Elumelu Foundation and urged the beneficiaries to utilize the funds wisely to realize the programme’s objectives.
Mrs. Mary Noel-Berje, Special Adviser to the Niger State Governor on women and affirmative action, commended Sen. Oluremi for her considerable support for women in Niger State, affirming that her efforts reflect compassion, empathy, and a nurturing spirit.
She also acknowledged the Governor’s inclusive leadership style, which continues to empower women and elevate them into leadership positions.
