Farmer Governor Umaru Bago Launches Food Systems Transformation Committee

In a significant move towards enhancing food security in Niger State, Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has established a committee dedicated to implementing food systems transformation pathways.
The committee was inaugurated during the recent State Executive Council meeting held at the Government House in Minna.
During the inauguration, Governor Bago emphasized the importance of diligence and commitment among committee members to ensure the successful execution of their mandate. He assured members of his steadfast support throughout the process.
The committee will be chaired by the Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Mustapha Ndajiwo, with Aishatu Usman, the Permanent Secretary for Planning, serving as the Secretary.
Additional members include the Commissioners for Agriculture, Livestock and Nomadic Affairs, Finance, Basic and Secondary Education, Water Resources, Primary Healthcare, Women’s Affairs, Local Government, and Chieftaincy Affairs.
This initiative aims to develop a comprehensive strategy for transforming the food systems in Niger State, thereby improving agricultural productivity and ensuring sustainable food supply for its residents.
