Niger Enhances Security Measures with New Vehicle Procurement,Graduate Special Protection Unit.

In a proactive step to bolster security, the Niger State Government has ordered 25 additional vehicles for the Nigeria Police Force, Niger State Command, aimed at improving patrol capabilities in key towns across the state.
This announcement was made by Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago during the graduation ceremony of 50 participants from the Special Protection Unit (SPU) Base 23, held at the Justice Idris Legbo Kutigi premises in Minna, the State Capital.
Governor Bago emphasized the government’s commitment to collaborating with the Nigeria Police to construct barracks in the outskirts of Minna, enhancing security measures within the capital and its surroundings.
He congratulated the SPU graduates and expressed gratitude to the Inspector General of Police for establishing the unit and facilitating their training.
“The state government is dedicated to supporting the Nigeria Police and other security agencies in our ongoing fight against insecurity,” Bago affirmed.
Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Hassan Sani, Commander of the SPU Base 23 in Minna, elaborated on the training the participants underwent.
Over the course of two weeks, they completed a comprehensive program designed to develop their skills in VIP protection, convoy movement, combat readiness, firearms handling, martial arts, first aid, and fire safety.
CSP Sani praised the graduates for their dedication and urged them to apply the discipline and skills they acquired during their training faithfully.
He also expressed his appreciation for Governor Bago’s substantial support and partnership with the Nigeria Police Force.
The graduation event included the symbolic presentation of certificates to the participants, along with demonstrations of combat drills and VIP protection exercises, showcasing the skill set developed by the graduates of SPU 23 Minna.
