Lafarma Education foundation Inaugurates JAMB CBT Center, Awards Scholarship, Burseries to Youths in Niger.

The Nuhu Lafarma Education Foundation, a non-governmental organization based in Agaie local council of Niger State, celebrated its 18th anniversary by unveiling a JAMB CBT centre named after the 12th Emir of Lapai, Alhaji Umaru Bago Tafida III. During this event, the foundation also announced scholarships and bursaries awarded to youths.
Bregadier General Muhammad Bello Abdullahi (Rtd), the Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BOT) of the Nuhu Lafarma Education Foundation, highlighted the foundation’s commitment to humanitarian interventions across various sectors.
Since its inception 18 years ago, the foundation has provided scholarships, medical care, and skills acquisition programs for children, youths, women, vulnerable groups, including convicts, and those in need of medical assistance.
General Bello revealed that the foundation has sponsored over one thousand youths with full scholarships for postgraduate studies, bursary awards, and special intervention programs. In total, more than seven hundred and fifty million Naira has been disbursed in scholarship awards to students across different educational levels.
On the topic of youth and women empowerment, General Abdullahi noted that the foundation has trained and empowered over two thousand individuals through skill acquisition programs facilitated by master trainers from various Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
Additionally, the foundation has distributed five thousand starter packs to deserving recipients.
The Chairman also emphasized the foundation’s medical outreach efforts, stating that it has conducted over ten medical missions and funded the medical care of more than two hundred and fifty individuals with various health issues.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the foundation provided safety and relief materials worth millions of Naira to hospitals and health centers in Niger State and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
In an ongoing effort to support the community, the foundation has drilled hundreds of boreholes to provide portable drinking water to the people. General Bello urged individuals and organizations to support the foundation’s mission through generous donations for the sake of Allah and humanity.
The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, described the foundation as a unique project that has significantly impacted the social, economic, and educational growth of the people in Agaie. Represented by Brigadier General Madukpe Falana, the CDS pledged personal support for the foundation’s initiatives and encouraged youths and women to engage in the foundation’s programs, stating that participation offers them valuable advantages.
Additionally, the Etsu Nupe and Chairman of the Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji (Dr.) Yahaya Abubakar, praised the foundation for improving living conditions in the region and for empowering over two thousand individuals through skill acquisition programs.
The monarch, represented by Pharmacist Yahaya Mayaki, expressed his appreciation for the founder and called on wealthy individuals in the area to support the foundation’s efforts.
