Governor Umar Bago Calls for Prayer and Unity During Ramadan

Niger State Governor, Umar Mohammed Bago, has urged the Muslim community to utilize the Ramadan fasting period as an opportunity to pray for positive change and divine intervention in the state and country.
His appeal was made during a Ramadan lecture organized by the Niger State Government at the Justice Idris Legbo Kutigi Mosque in Minna.
Speaking on behalf of the governor, Umar Farooq Abdullahi, Director General of the Niger State Bureau of Religious Affairs and Secretary General of the Imams Forum, commended Governor Bago for his dedication to promoting Islam and instilling good morals within society.
He emphasized that the program aligns with the government’s efforts to nurture ethical values among the populace.
Abdullahi expressed gratitude to the clerics representing various Muslim organizations who participated in the inaugural Ramadan Tafsir session, highlighting its significance in spreading the blessings of the Qur’an and encouraging prayers for peace in the state and nation.
El-Hajj Alfa Kayan Bago, the Coordinator of Media Relations for the Governor, acknowledged the challenges faced upon the administration’s inception. He emphasized that with divine support and the community’s unwavering prayers, the government has been able to implement significant projects that positively impact the lives of residents.
Additionally, Adamu Garba Igwe, leader of Persons with Disabilities under the Minna Emirate Council, along with Hajiya Hauwa, expressed their appreciation for the governor’s initiative to organize programs that resonate with many lives through divine messages.
They encouraged others to mirror such efforts and thanked the organizers for their daily iftar distributions to thousands in the community.
