Niger Govt. repositions Primary, Tertiary health sector in the State – Abdulbaqy
Niger State government has reaffirmed the commitment of the current administration’s willingness to reposition both primary and tertiary health sector in order to achieve health for all
In a statement issued by the governor’s Special Adviser on Digital Media and Strategy, Abdulbaqy Usman Ebbo said that Governor Umaru Bago is giving the health sector the desired attentions to ensure no medical workers exodus in Niger state.
Abdulbaqy Ebbo explained that before now the doctors’ quarters at General Hospital, Minna, had been in poor condition for many years, resulting in terrible living conditions for doctors
He stated that Governor Umaru Bago has completely transformed the doctors building, making the quarters habitable and conducive for doctors working in the hospital.
The Special Adviser further revealed that the first ever state university teaching hospital is under construction named Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University Teaching Hospital Minna.
He hinted that the state-owned IBB Specialist Hospital is undergoing remodeling, with new departments being created and state-of-the-art facilities installed for effective and efficient service delivery.
Ebbo maintained that the state government has also begun the constructing 100 level-2 primary healthcare centers, with about 20 set to be completed in the next 10 weeks an indication that the present administration under the leadership of governor Mohammed Umar Bago has prioritized the health sector in enhancing positive results.
