Bosso Poultry Production unit to hatch 560 eggs – says Commissioner livestock.
In an effort to boost Livestock production, and improve internally generated revenue, the Niger state ministry for Livestock and fisheries has equipped the Bosso poultry production unit with an incubator, with the capacity of hatching five hundred and sixty eggs.
The commissioner Niger state ministry for Livestock and fisheries, Hon.Ibrahim Mami Ijah, in an interview with newsmen explained that, the ministry now produces day old chicks,in addition to the hatching and production of fingerlings which is unprecedented in the history of the state.
Commending the Governor of Niger state, farmer Umaru Mohammed Bago for providing the necessary support needed to actualize the New Niger Agenda,the commissioner said,Nigerlites no longer need to travel out of the state to get day old chickens or fingerlings.
He posited that the ministry is looking forward to establishing a public, private partnership to harness the full potentials of Livestock production, increase the internally generated revenue as well as to provide meaningful employment to the teeming youth.
Hon. Ibrahim Mami Ijah further, emphasised that, in the first quarter of next year, the ministry will engage the youth in a skill acquisition, and empowerment Programme on Livestock productions
He affirmed his commitments towards repositioning the ministry for efficient service delivery
