Governor Bago advises NYSC corps members to use their talents positively for nation building
Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger state has urged corps members to channel their talents and energy positively to discover new ways to build the nation.
He said during the swearing-in of 2023 Batch C Stream Two corps members posted to the state at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camp in Paiko.
Bago, represented by Alhaji Yahaya Gulbin-Boka, Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development in Niger, expressed optimism that the corps members would lift the country to enviable heights.
“As corps members, you are automatically an agent of change, it is my ardent hope that you will lift the country to enviable heights,” he said.
He added that to achieve giant strides, corps members must prepare adequately from the orientation camp by being disciplined and obeying constituted authorities.
Bago advised them to participate in all camp activities especially the Skills Acquisition and Enterpreneuership Development (SAED) training and be security conscious at all times.
Earlier, Mrs Abdulwahab Olayinka, NYSC Coordinator in Niger state, enjoined the corps members to acquaint themselves with the provisions of NYSC Acts and Bye-Laws.
She advised them to avail themselves to for SAED training and choose from any skills area to become self-reliance and self-sufficient as white-collar jobs were not readily available.
Olayinka said that NYSC will continue to work with relevant stakeholders for the success of the programme.
