Niger Chief Judge Presents Award to the Best Performing Staff in the Promotion Exermination.
The Chief Judge of Niger state and Chairman Niger State Judicial Service Commission (NJSC) Justice Halima Ibrahim Abdulmalik, has received and homered members of staff who distinguished themselves through their excellent performance in the first and second ever conducted promotional extermination in the history of the commission.
The Chief Judge stated this Thursday while presenting award to best 14 performing staff in the promotion examinations conducted by the NJSC, assuring that the state judiciary will continue to reward staff with excellent performances in a bid to promote efficiency and competence.
The Chief Judge disclosed that “It is a matter within public knowledge that there has been drastic decline in performance and productivity of judiciary staff. Some of the factors responsible were poor supervision and the absence of proper, efficient and effective assessment methodologies and strategies.”
Justice Halina stressed that in line with extant regulations in a bid to promote efficiency and competence in the administration of justice, the state Judiciary has decided to embark on intensive Retreat for all categories of staff.
She however expressed dismay efforts made to sensitize and enlighten staff on the need to fill the APER FORM which is one of the fundamental requirements for promotion, many staff have failed or elected not to fill the form.
She then highlights that officer’s who fall within the field of selection for [promotion shall be considered except those who are under deciplinary action., adding that any officer who fail promotion extermination on three consecutive attempts on same grades and whose on -the-job performance has been assessed to below average shall be required to leave the service,she explained.
The Chief Judge, Justice Halina specifically appreciates the Lead Consultant Ndagi Usman Wali Esq, the former Solicitor General, Niger State and his team for their industry and dedication, all the former members of the commission for their sense of camaraderie adding that it was wonderful working with them.
