Governor Umaru Bago Urges 2025 Hajj Pilgrims from Niger State to Uphold Exemplary Conduct
Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has encouraged the 2025 Hajj pilgrims from the state to act as exemplary representatives during their pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.
He offered this counsel during a farewell ceremony for the second batch of intending pilgrims at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport in Minna.
Governor Bago emphasized the importance of abiding by local laws and cultural practices, reminding the pilgrims that regulations in Saudi Arabia differ significantly from those in Nigeria.
He urged them to commit to prayer for peace and advancement in both Niger State and the country, advocating for divine intervention to address ongoing security challenges across Nigeria.
The Governor also highlighted the need for the pilgrims to stay organized and hydrated due to the high temperatures expected during their pilgrimage.
He expressed appreciation for the airline service responsible for transporting the pilgrims and voiced confidence that this year’s Hajj would be a successful and fulfilling experience.
The second batch of 310 intending pilgrims, hailing from Mokwa, Borgu, and Shiroro Local Government Areas, were airlifted to Saudi Arabia.
This follows the earlier airlift of 485 Batch A pilgrims from Mariga and Mashegu Local Government Areas, bringing the total number of pilgrims transported from Niger State to 795.
Governor Bago was accompanied by Deputy Governor Comrade Yakubu Garba, the Etsu Nupe and Chairman of the Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, as well as the State Amirul Hajj and Emir of Kagara, Ahmad Garba Gunna, along with several key government officials.
