NBA Minna branch elects new officials, Barrister Isyaku Barau emerges Chairman.

NBA Minna branch elects new officials, Barrister Isyaku Barau emerges Chairman.

Nigeria Bar Association, Minna branch has elected new Executives to run the affairs of the association for the next two years.

Those elected are as follows, Barrister Isyaku Barau emerged as the Chairman, Adamu Abugi Mohammed was elected the Vice Chairman, the post of Secretary goes to Barrister Mohammed Aliyu Kutigi and Hassan Habib Alhaji, was elected the Assistant Secretary.

Others are Mustapha Muhammed Garba was elected the Treasure of the association, Hauwa Yahaya Sayuti elected the Finacial Secretary, Abraham Favour the Social Secretary,while Fatima Muhammad Alfa was elected the Publicity Secretary, Hadiza Nura Alfa, Welfare Secretary and MaimunaYusuf Alhaji elected the Provost.

In his post election speech, the elected Chairman, Barrister Isyaku Barau commended members of the Bar who found him worthy for the position and elected him as their Chairman.

Barrister Barau congratulated the out going Executives of NBA, Minna branch for, they have performed credibly well during their tenure and also the electoral committee members who brought them to power particularly the Chairman of the electoral committee,Barrister El- Shiru for the job well done.

He stressed that the achievements recorded by the previous administration is what they will consolidate on and shall add more on the present achievements recorded so far.

He observed that what is lingering in the society is the independence of the Judiciary, he said “I will by the grace of God, strive to see that is achieved during my tenure as the Chairman”.

Barrister Barau said he will do everything possible to ensure that rule of law is been upheld in the society, that justice is done to all manner of people and machineries of the state are run in accordance to the rules and regulations as enshrined in the Constitution.

He further disclosed that if they fully assumed office,welfare of their members shall be of utmost priority of his administration, ” I shall want to see a situation where lawyers both Private and Public earn what they suppose to earn as lawyers in the state”.
