Ministry of Information Urges Road Construction Firms to Improve Public Notices on Diversions and Blockages
The Honorable Commissioner for Information and Orientation of Niger State, Mr. Obed Nuhu Nana, has urged road construction companies involved in various infrastructure projects across the state to consistently provide clear public notices regarding road diversions and temporary closures. This effort aims to ensure smoother traffic flow within Minna metropolis and other affected areas.
In a press statement, the Commissioner emphasized that timely communication and proper signage at construction sites can greatly reduce traffic congestion and inconvenience for drivers and residents alike.
Mr. Nana also expressed appreciation for Niger State Governor Umar Mohammed Bago, popularly known as the Farmer Governor, for his strategic and visionary infrastructure development plans under the New Niger initiative, aimed at transforming the state.
He noted that Minna, the state capital, is already experiencing significant development through new roads, overhead bridges, underpasses, a renovated state secretariat, digital streetlights, and several ongoing major projects.
While recognizing that these projects may cause temporary traffic disruptions, he stressed that the long-term benefits for the state and its residents outweigh the inconveniences.
The Commissioner reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to collaborating with relevant authorities to ensure construction companies communicate effectively with the public regarding road closures and alternative routes during their projects. He called on residents and drivers to exercise patience, cooperation, and support as the government intensifies efforts to improve traffic management and complete ongoing initiatives under the New Niger program.
Mr. Nana assured the public that the Ministry of Information and Orientation remains dedicated to supporting Governor Bago’s infrastructure development and overall transformation agenda.
