Plateau APC  ready for 2027 general  election ,as Gagdi winner PKK

Yakubu Busari

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC)  electoral committee for Plateau State has declared Rt.Hon.Yusuf Babayo Gagdi the winner of Pankshin Kanke andKanam (PKK) after the controversial pronouncement.

The Chairman of the committee Dr Stella Otete made the declaration at Kalwa House that Barr.Nandom Andrew Kura was the returning officer for PKK  .

She commended the peaceful conduct of the Plateau people in the last Saturday primaries by employing them to do same in all the elections .

Stella stressed that the state is “ready for all elections” and poised to secure victory for the party in 2027, citing peaceful and transparent primaries held across the eight federal constituencies.

According to her,Plateau State was firmly APC and prepared for the House of Representatives, Senatorial, and other elections ahead.

“This state is ready for all elections, inshallah — from the eight House of Reps seats to the three senatorial district elections. I believe we are poised to win, inshallah, amen,” she said.

Stella  disclosed that she had been in Plateau since Friday to oversee the House of Representatives and Senatorial primaries. According to her, materials for the House of Representatives primaries were successfully distributed, and committee members monitored the exercise across all the eight federal constituencies.

“The report I got is that we had a very peaceful, transparent, and orderly primary — one that shows the strength of the APC,” she said. “That’s why I said we are poised for victory, and we will get it in 2027.”

The Chairman announced the formal opening of the senatorial primaries, stating that both sensitive and non-sensitive materials had been made available to approved electoral officers deployed to the wards, local governments, and senatorial districts.

She expressed confidence that the peace, unity, and transparency witnessed in the House of Representatives primaries would extend to the senatorial, House of Assembly, and governorship primaries in the coming days.

Appealing to party members, she urged supporters to remain peaceful and orderly during the voting process.

“As party members, understand that there will always be a winner, but there will never be a loser because we are all APC. Our role is to support whoever emerges for total victory in the forthcoming elections in 2027,” she said.

The chairman also used the occasion to thank the state party leadership for the hospitality extended to her  committee.

She further clarified that only approved returning and collation officers appointed by her committee were authorized to declare results at the federal constituency level, warning against unauthorized announcements.

“Those are the only people empowered to go and carry out the exercise in those federal constituencies and do the needful,” she said, adding that the official results for the House of Representatives primaries would be released to the press shortly.
