BOSA President sympathizes with Government College Bida, calls for urgent repairs

The National President of the Bida Old Students Association (BOSA), retired Major General Abdulmalik Halidu Giwa, has expressed sympathy with the management, staff, and students of Government College Bida following a recent windstorm that caused extensive damage to the school.
In a press statement issued by National Publicity Secretary General Halidu Giwa, who holds the traditional title of Taimakon Nupe, the incident was described as devastating, with significant psychological and physical impacts on both students and staff.
Speaking through the National Vice President of BOSA, Alhaji Muhammadu Agwai, he revealed that the worst-hit areas include the administrative block, students’ hostels, the school fence, staff quarters, and several trees planted in the early 1990s.
While urging the school community to view the incident as an act of God, General Giwa emphasized that nothing happens without divine knowledge.
He called on relevant authorities, particularly the state government, to urgently commence repairs on the affected structures, considering the school’s status as a Unity College.
The BOSA President further noted that Government College Bida is more than just an educational institution, describing it as a national heritage known for admitting students from across the country.
He assured that the association would continue to liaise with appropriate authorities to ensure the school’s growth and development, as well as sustain its tradition of academic excellence, discipline, and respect for the rule of law.
