L-PRES ,Niger Foods partner to transform Livestock sector

The National Coordinator of the Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support (L-PRES), Alhaji Sanusi Abubakar, has assured the people of Niger State of the programme’s readiness to collaborate with Niger Foods Security Systems and Logistics Company Limited to advance livestock development in the state.
Alhaji Sanusi Abubakar said the partnership would focus on unlocking opportunities within the livestock value chain, particularly in line with the state government’s drive to establish a modern feedlot and livestock hub.
Sanusi gave the assurance during a courtesy visit to Tagwai, where he emphasized that L-PRES is committed to supporting innovative initiatives that will boost productivity, enhance food security, and create employment opportunities.
He noted that strategic partnerships with institutions like Niger Foods are critical to achieving sustainable growth in the sector.
He further explained that L-PRES would provide technical support, capacity building, and access to funding opportunities for stakeholders, including farmers, processors, and investors,he expressed confidence that the synergy between L-PRES and Niger Foods would accelerate the realization of the livestock city project, while also improving the livelihoods of rural communities across the state.
Also speaking, Chairman of Agricultural Business and Integrated Services (ABIS), Emmauel Nelson Usman has praised Niger State and Niger Foods for their collaborative efforts in the livestock sector.
He expressed satisfaction with the partnership, describing it as a strategic move to enhance technical expertise, market opportunities, and sustainable livestock practices in the state.
Responding, Chairman of Niger Foods Mr. Sammy Adigun, welcomed the assurance of collaboration from the National Coordinator L-PRES ,Alhaji Sanusi Abubakar, describing it as a major boost toward realizing the vision of Governor Umar Mohammed Bago to establish a world class livestock city in Niger State.
Mr. Adigun noted that the proposed partnership would reinforce ongoing efforts at the Niger Foods Feedlot Centre, particularly through the deployment of technical expertise, the development of over 15,000 hectares of land to support about 50,000 cattle, as well as increased investment opportunities and capacity building for stakeholders along the livestock value chain.
He reaffirmed the company’s commitment to working closely with L-PRES to promote innovation, enhance productivity, and ensure sustainable livestock development, ultimately strengthening food security and driving economic growth across the state.
