Security expert : Hon Emmanuel Amanchi APC senate hopeful vows war against insecurity and Youths empowerment

A Retired Police Officer and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Hon Emmanuel Timothy Amanchi, has declared his intention to contest the Plateau North Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections, as he promised to tackle the challenges of insecurity bedeviling the zone if given the chance.
Amanchi , described as one of the fineness security experts joining members of the APC in Plateau State, made his intention known in an exclusive interview with this medium on Monday at his residence in Jos .
He held series of meeting with supporters and well-wishers as he is canvassing their overwhelming support to represent the district in the National Assembly.
The Senate seat hopeful said he decided to heed the call of his supporters to “pilot the affairs of the good people of Plateau North” at the Upper Chamber.
Emmanuel Timothy pledged to prioritise tackling insecurity in the senatorial district, promising to leverage his training and exposure and contacts to attract support and partnerships.
“Insecurity remains a major concern for our people. With my experience and security connection , he promised to partner with the youth were we will explore practical solutions to strengthen our local security architecture,” he said.
The APC stalwart added that he would work closely with traditional rulers and community leaders to address security challenges, noting that traditional institutions play a critical role in intelligence gathering and conflict resolution.
“Our traditional rulers can not be left out of security matters. We must empower local security structures and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure lasting peace in Plateau State,” he said.
The aspirant also identified education, agriculture, and healthcare as priority areas if elected in 2027, promising to sponsor bills and attract federal projects that would improve livelihoods across the seven local government areas of the district.
He appealed to Nigerian not to be induce by money but remain fair and transparent during the party’s primary process, urging them to allow party members to choose a credible candidate.
“I urge the officials to be faithful to the ideals of democracy and give the people the opportunity to choose a candidate who can truly represent their interests,” he added.
Our correspondent also reports that the Plateau North Senatorial District, comprising six local government areas, has witnessed heightened political activities as potential aspirants position themselves ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The district has also grappled with security concerns in recent years, particularly in forested border communities, prompting calls for stronger representation at the National Assembly to attract federal intervention and development projects.
Amanchi’s entry into the race is expected to reshape permutations within the APC as stakeholders intensify consultations ahead of the party’s primaries.
According to him, the new electoral law signed by President Tinubu prove that the present electoral act is the right thing for the country by making sure that the people choose wisely and the shouldn’t go for any financial inducement , just lineup behind who you think can give you what you want so don’t be induce .
Let make a difference ,let bring new names into the political scene that of before was either manipulated or was not their own view ,I think that is my take .
However,he said that his blueprint for the people of Plateau North Senatorial District are enormous as he came to vie for the seat because the terrain which has been occupied by insecurity .
He stated that ,” I want to really impact positively on the security , although I left the NPF not with the rank of policy making but very well that as a senator by his grace I will be giving security department that can boost my area of security experience especially in Riyom, Barkin Ladi,Bassa,Jos North and Jos East .
Amanchi harped that each of these LGAs have their peculiar issues many people don’t know some of the attacks are not Fulani but they’re reprisal and if you deeply find out like in Jos North mostly has to do with reprisal .
He disclosed that some of the attacks has to do with Fulani milia and mostly escalated quickly by revenge but if given the chance I will want to unify the people of Plateau North Senatorial District so that we can understand ourselves . Whatsoever that happened we should take it as crime so that if your own brother is involve call him to order .
Amanchi maintained that ,he was very happy at one of the occasion during the breaking of fast two persons were given award of recognition for saving three Christian and three Muslims protected the lives of Christian set to be killed .
Then, another keke man escape with a Christian so with this we start imbibing thing that we start protecting each other ,he said.
Timothy stressed that economic empowerment of women, youths who don’t have something doing by engaging them on meaningful training and that would go a long way in solving insecurity in Plateau State.
He added that if the youth are not engage then they became tools in the hands of crime and criminality
