Governor Bago Reaffirms Commitment to Strengthen Efforts Against Terrorism in Niger State
Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has reiterated the government’s dedication to intensifying efforts to fight terrorism in specific parts of the state.
He expressed these intentions during a Ramadan fast-breaking ceremony with the Emir of Kontagora, Alh: Muhammad Bara’u Mu’azu II, and other key Emirate leaders.
The governor acknowledged that insecurity has slowed development in some areas, but highlighted that new strategic plans are being developed to effectively tackle these issues.
Additionally, he explained that the decision to consolidate some secondary schools within the Emirate aims to improve student safety and called on residents to support this measure.
He also assured that projects like the reconstruction of Kontagora General Hospital and other ongoing initiatives will be completed quickly.
Governor Bago appreciated the Emir and stakeholders for hosting the Ramadan event and urged everyone to continue praying for peace and strong leadership to foster societal progress.
The Emir of Kontagora, Alh. Muhammad Bara’u Mu’azu II, thanked the governor for his presence, saying it would strengthen the relationship between the Emirate and the government.
He pledged ongoing support for development initiatives in both the Emirate and the entire state.
