Work on the Suleja-Minna road project is scheduled to begin on Monday, March 16th, 2026.
The Minister of Works, David Umahi, announced this during a meeting with Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago to discuss the project implementation plan.
The minister stated that funding for mobilization is available, and contractors should go ahead and access the funds to move to the site.
He also mentioned that the project has been revised to include concrete pavement instead of asphalt to meet international road standards.
Regarding the 7 km Maje-Dikko dual carriageway, the minister explained that the project has been concessioned under the NNPC Tax Credit Scheme, and work is expected to begin soon.
Governor Bago expressed appreciation for the minister’s innovative approach and efforts to ensure Nigeria’s roads are not only repaired but built to global standards.
He assured the minister that the Niger State government will continue providing an environment conducive to the smooth execution of all federal road projects in the state.
