Man Allegedly Caught Trying to Hide Girlfriend’s Body in Car Boot.
Residents in the Akobo area of Ibadan, Oyo State, raised an alarm after a man allegedly tried to put a young woman’s body into the trunk of his car before fleeing the scene.
Eyewitnesses say the suspect, who was driving a 2007 Toyota Corolla, was seen attempting to push the woman into the trunk when he suddenly noticed neighbors still outside due to the heat. When he realized people were nearby, he reportedly dropped the body on the ground and sped off.
Residents said they had earlier seen the man and woman go into a house together earlier in the day.
Police have now arrived at the scene, where the body of the victim, identified as Precious, a resident of Akobo, was recovered.
The house where the incident was supposedly took place was left in disarray, and a hammer was found on the floor.
Locals identified the suspect as Muhammad Quadri, a former student at The Polytechnic Ibadan and a former NYSC corps member.
Sources within the community claim the couple had been in a toxic relationship before the incident.
Authorities have not yet released an official statement as investigations continue.
