Niger State Donates Land to Nigerian Army for Veterans’ Housing Initiative
The Niger State government announced a donation of 1,000 hectares of land to the Nigerian Army to facilitate post-service housing for its veterans.
The farmer-governor conveyed this commitment during a courtesy visit from Maj. Gen. Ishaiah Allison, Managing Director and CEO of the Post-service Housing Development at the Nigerian Army, at the Niger State liaison office in Abuja.
He commended the Nigerian Army’s housing program, stating that it aligns with his administration’s vision for sustainable agricultural housing for veterans.
Expressing concern for the well-being of military personnel after their service, the governor emphasized that the housing initiative would foster a sense of belonging among veterans.
He assured that the 1,000 hectares of land would be ample for both housing and agricultural activities, and pledged close collaboration with the Nigerian Army to support and ensure the success of the project.
Maj. Gen. Ishaiah Allison explained that the program aims to provide affordable housing for retired officers as a key component of the Army’s welfare scheme. He stressed the importance of state government support in providing land to realize these objectives.
Furthermore, Maj. Gen. Allison appreciated the governor’s support and encouraged continued partnership to advance the Nigerian Army’s welfare initiatives.
