Niger Assembly Speaker Commends Security Agencies for Successful Operation Against Bandits
The Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Barr. (Dr.) Abdulmalik Mohammed Sarkin-Daji, has commended the coordinated efforts of security agencies, particularly the Brigadier Generals and the Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), for their remarkable success in recent operations against bandits in Mariga Local Government Area and parts of the Niger North Senatorial District.
Rt Hon. Sarkin-Daji described the operation as a breakthrough in the fight against insecurity in the state, noting that the bravery, professionalism, and dedication of security personnel resulted in the death of numerous bandits and the successful apprehension of others.
The Speaker stated that this decisive action has substantially weakened criminal activities in the affected areas and restored confidence among residents who had lived in fear for a long time.
Rt. Hon. Barr. (Dr.) Sarkin-Daji also praised the relentless efforts and sacrifices of security agencies in safeguarding lives and property across Niger State.
He acknowledged the risks involved in such operations and expressed sincere appreciation to the officers and soldiers risking their lives to maintain peace, stability, and safety for vulnerable communities.
He assured the security agencies of the Niger State Government’s unwavering support and cooperation, emphasizing the state’s commitment to providing all necessary assistance to enhance security efforts.
The Speaker also reiterated the government’s dedication to working closely with security stakeholders to tackle and eliminate persistent insecurity challenges.
He called on all Nigerlites to remain calm, vigilant, and law-abiding, assuring them that the protection of lives and property remains the highest government priority.
Furthermore, he urged residents to continue supporting security agencies by sharing credible, timely information to facilitate ongoing and future operations aimed at sustaining peace and stability throughout the state.
