Niger State Government Lifts Nighttime Restrictions on Motorcycle and Tricycle Movements

The Niger State Ministry of Information and Orientation officially announces that the government has fully lifted the nighttime movement restriction for motorcycles and tricycles from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
In a statement signed by Yunusa Saidu Ibrahim, Director of Information Services, on behalf of the Hon. Commissioner, it was stated that the decision comes after approval from His Excellency, Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, following his review of Minna’s security situation.
According to Alhaji Abubakar Usman, Secretary to the State Government, the decision was made “based on strong recommendations from the State Security Committee” and reflects a significant and ongoing improvement in the city’s security.
The Ministry emphasized that the initial restriction was a proactive step that successfully reduced crime and protected lives and property.
The government commends the professionalism of security agencies and the patience and cooperation of Minna’s residents during the enforcement period.
With movement back to normal, the Niger State Government reaffirms its commitment to public safety. Security agencies and residents are urged to stay vigilant and follow all traffic and safety regulations.
Motorcycle and tricycle operators, along with all residents, are encouraged to conduct their activities responsibly and legally, as maintaining peace and security is a shared responsibility.
