Farmer Umaru Bago Advocates for Replication of Schools for Early Child Care Development,Education Across 25 LGAs

Niger State Governor, Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago, has called for the replication of the School for Early Child Care Development and Education (ECCDE) model across all 25 Local Government Areas of the state.
He made this suggestion during an inspection of the model ECCDE at the Niger State Teacher Professional Development Institute in Minna.
During his tour of the school’s classes, library, hall, playground, and smart school farm, the governor expressed satisfaction with the structures, calling the initiative a noble idea.
Farmer Umaru Bago emphasized that the school should be replicated in all LGAs to ensure children receive a solid foundational education and teachers receive proper training.
He reiterated that his administration is committed to improving the education sector by integrating global best practices to achieve meaningful progress.
Hajiya Maimuna Muhammad, Director General of Niger State Schools and Education Reforms, accompanied the governor and the Commissioner for Basic Education, Dr. Hadiza Asabe Mohammad, observed that the school is already making a significant impact in providing basic knowledge to less privileged children.
She added that the concept introduced by the institute has become a benchmark for other states adopting similar ideas in Niger, serving as a training ground for primary school teachers across the state to enhance their skills.
The ECCDE in Minna comprises five classes: four have ten pupils each, and one has 20 pupils, all within the age range of five.
Meanwhile, the governor made a stop at the Bahago Sports Complex in Minna, where he was shown around the facility by the Chairman of the Niger State Sports Commission, Danjuma Masu.
He reaffirmed his administration’s pledge to revamp sports, making it a platform for talent discovery and exposure.
