BOSA celebrates retired Colonel Sani Bello at 83, praises his enduring contributions to education and development.
The Bida Old Students Association (BOSA) has congratulated former National President, Retired Colonel Sani Bello, on his 83rd birthday.
In a congratulatory message issued to journalists in Minna, Comrade Usman Muhammed Chiji, the National Publicity Secretary, stated that BOSA’s National President, Retired Major General Abdulmalik Halidu Giwa, thanked God for granting the celebrant a long life and the privilege of reaching this remarkable milestone.
General Halidu Giwa, also known as the Taimakon Nupe, described Colonel Bello as a pillar of support and a steadfast advocate for peace, highlighting that his contributions to the socio-economic development of Niger State and Nigeria are immeasurable.
He expressed satisfaction with Colonel Bello’s numerous efforts in education, healthcare, and rural infrastructure, emphasizing that his philanthropic activities have positively impacted people both within and outside the state.
According to him, the establishment of schools, health facilities, and vocational training centers by the celebrant is clear evidence of his dedication to improving lives.
The BOSA President further commended Colonel Bello—who holds the traditional title of Sarkin Malamai Kontagora—for his consistent support of Government College Bida.
He assured that the current BOSA leadership will continue to uphold his legacy by improving facilities and fostering the school’s growth.
General Halidu Giwa prayed for God to grant Colonel Bello more years of good health, wisdom, and strength to sustain his humanitarian service to society.
Retired Colonel Sani Bello was born in Kontagora on November 27, 1942.
He attended Government College Bida from 1957 to 1962, served as governor of old Kano State from 1975 to 1978, and later became Nigeria’s High Commissioner to Zimbabwe.
