FG, States, and LGCs Share N2.001 Trillion July 2025 Revenue.

By Yahaya Zakka Minna.

The total revenue from the Federation Account for July 2025, amounting to N2.001 trillion, has been shared among the Federal Government, State Governments, and Local Government Councils. This distribution occurred during the August 2025 meeting of the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) held in Abuja.

The N2.001 trillion in distributable revenue included N1.282 trillion in distributable statutory revenue, approximately N610 billion in distributable Value Added Tax (VAT) revenue, N37.601 billion from the Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL), and N39.745 billion from exchange differences.

A communiqué released by FAAC revealed that the total gross revenue available for July 2025 was N3.837 trillion. The total deductions for the cost of collection amounted to N681 billion, while total transfers, interventions, refunds, and savings reached N1.683 trillion.

According to the communiqué, gross statutory revenue for July 2025 was N3.070 trillion, which is lower than the N3.485 trillion received in June 2025 by approximately N1.108 billion.

Revenue from VAT in July 2025 was approximately N940 billion, which was higher than the N930.165 billion recorded in June 2025 by N9.775 billion.

The communiqué indicated that from the total distributable revenue of N2.001 trillion, the Federal Government received approximately N081 billion, and State Governments received about N349 billion. Local Government Councils received roughly N039 billion, while N359 billion (13% of mineral revenue) was allocated to the benefiting states as derivation revenue.

For the N1.282 trillion in distributable statutory revenue, the Federal Government received approximately N805 billion, State Governments received about N330 billion, and Local Government Councils received around N023 billion. Additionally, N714 billion (13% of mineral revenue) was shared among the benefiting states as derivation revenue.

From the N610 billion distributable VAT revenue, the Federal Government received N96.092 billion, State Governments received approximately N305 billion, and Local Government Councils received about N214 billion.

The Federal Government received a total of N5.640 billion from the N37.601 billion collected in the EMTL, while State Governments received N18.801 billion and Local Government Councils received N13.160 billion.

For the N39.745 billion in exchange differences, the Federal Government received N19.544 billion, State Governments received N9.913 billion, and Local Government Councils received N7.643 billion, with N2.643 billion (13% of mineral revenue) shared among the benefiting states as derivation revenue.

In July 2025, the revenues from Petroleum Profit Tax (PPT), Oil and Gas Royalty, Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL), and Excise Duty saw significant increases, while VAT and Import Duty experienced only marginal increases. Conversely, Companies’ Income Tax (CIT) and CET Levies showed decreases.
