Niger State Government Transforms Healthcare System with Digital Initiatives.
In a groundbreaking effort to enhance healthcare services, Dr. Ibrahim Ahmed Dangana, the Honorable Commissioner for Primary Health Care in Niger State, has emphasized the importance of integrating technology into the healthcare sector.
This commitment was highlighted during a crucial meeting at the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) with Dr. Abubakar Shehu, the National Coordinator of E Health Africa, and his team.
Dr. Shehu presented essential information regarding the rollout of the Geo-Data Collection and Application initiative, which aims to improve vaccination campaigns across Niger State. This initiative plans to collect geo-coordinates from 13,569 settlements, achieving an impressive 99% coverage while ensuring data accuracy for polio and other health programs.

Data Management: The collected data will undergo a meticulous cleaning process before being submitted to state authorities for review and action.
Stakeholder Engagement: Continuous training sessions for data managers will empower local teams, enabling them to monitor and manage the system independently.
Resource Allocation:The developed application will generate detailed micro-plans for vaccination teams, effectively addressing resource allocation challenges.
Workload Optimization: Lessons learned from Kebbi State highlighted the significance of precise team assignments in enhancing vaccination efforts.
Dr. Samuel Jiya, the Director of Disease Control and Surveillance, emphasized that this initiative not only strengthens health data management but also significantly advances the strategic planning of vaccinations and campaigns throughout Niger State.
