Niger State Government Announces Successful Rescue of Kidnap Victims
In a significant development, the Niger State Government, represented by Deputy Governor Comrade Yakubu Garba, welcomed a group of rescued individuals who had been kidnapped from Wuloto and Kango villages in Kuchi Ward of Munya Local Government Area. The victims were abducted on March 3, 2025.
The handover ceremony took place at the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters in Dutsen Kura, Minna, as detailed in a press statement issued by Ummikhaltume Abdullahi Kuta, Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor.
During the event, Comrade Yakubu Garba expressed gratitude for the dedicated efforts of the joint security task force in Kaduna State, as well as the support from the National Security Adviser’s office.
Comrade Garba confirmed that the seventeen victims would receive necessary medical and psychological care before being reunited with their families.
Additionally, Niger State Commissioner of Police, Adamu Elleman, credited the success of the operation to non-kinetic measures and emphasized the strong collaboration between the Police and the National Security Adviser’s office.
