Niger State Assembly Approves New Leadership for Electricity Regulatory Commission.

In a pivotal move for the state’s energy sector, the Niger State House of Assembly has officially ratified the appointments of the Chairman and Commissioners for the Niger State Electricity Regulatory Commission.
This decision came as a result of an executive recommendation from Governor Mohammed Umar Bago, presented by Speaker Rt. Hon. Barr. (Dr) Muhammad Abdulmalik Sarkin Daji during a recent plenary session.
The Speaker highlighted that the Governor exercised his constitutional prerogative in submitting the nominees for legislative approval. The newly confirmed leadership includes:
– Chairman: Engr. Dr. Mohammed Sharu, FNSE (Bida)
– Commissioner for Enforcement and Consumer Affairs: Engr. Dr. Maiwada S. Bello FNSE (Paikoro)
– Commissioner for Licensing and Regulations: Dr. Muhammad Ameen Shakur (Bida)
– Commissioner for Rural Electricity Access Management: Engr. Jiro Ahmed Mohammed MNSE (Kontagora)
– Commissioner for Finance and Administration: Adamu Nagogo (Chanchaga)
