Niger State Governor Urges Christians to Reinforce Their Faith During Lenten Season,

Niger State Governor Umaru Bago has called on Christians to deepen their faith in God as they embark on the 2025 Lenten season, a 40-day period of fasting leading up to Easter.
In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, Governor Bago emphasized the solemn nature of Lent, encouraging believers to engage in heartfelt reflection, repentance, and heightened spiritual commitment.
The Governor highlighted that Lent serves as a pivotal time for self-discipline, sacrifice, intense prayer, humility, and obedience to God’s will.
He noted that this year’s Lent coincides closely with the commencement of Ramadan and suggested that this overlap presents a unique opportunity for the community to unite in prayer for the welfare of the state and the nation.
Governor Bago urged citizens to consistently pray for leaders across all levels of government, advocating for good governance that would lead to positive change in the lives of the people.
He extended his congratulations to Christians on the beginning of Lent, wishing them a successful and meaningful spiritual journey.
Concluding his message, the Governor reminded the Christian community of the importance of embodying the significance of this season in all facets of their lives, both during and after Lent.
He reaffirmed his commitment to foster an inclusive government that acts without bias.
