NCoS: Niger State Command Welcomes New Controller of Corrections

The Nigerian Correctional Service, Niger State Command, has appointed a new Controller of Corrections, CC Ahasu Aliyu, who took over the leadership of the command from Maikudi Garba Adamu, PSC. Adamu has been posted to the National Headquarters in Abuja as Assistant Controller General (ACG) of Works following his recent promotion. The handing-over ceremony took place on December 17, 2024.
CC Aliyu is a seasoned correctional administrator with extensive experience in various formations and roles within the Nigerian Correctional Service. He hails from Dutse Local Government Area in Jigawa State.
Prior to his current promotion and posting, CC Ahasu Aliyu served as the Officer in Charge of the New Medium Security Custodial Centre in Katsina State. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education (B.Ed.) from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria.
In another development, the Nigerian Correctional Service, Niger State Command, decorated over 30 senior officers with their respective ranks at the state headquarters in Minna on December 17, 2024.
During the brief ceremony, the former Controller of the State, ACG Maikudi Garba Adamu, urged the newly promoted officers to remain dedicated to their responsibilities and to always be loyal to the constituted authority. As he stated, “To whom much is given, much is expected.”
In a vote of thanks on behalf of the decorated officers, ACC Alheri Agogo Anthony expressed gratitude to the Honorable Minister of Interior and the Controller General of the Correctional Service for recognizing them worthy of elevation. He promised that they would not let the service down.
The event was well attended by many dignitaries, friends, and family members of the newly promoted officers.
Meanwhile, the newly appointed Controller of the Niger State Command, CC Ahasu Aliyu, has already assumed his duties and is committed to maintaining the existing calm and peaceful atmosphere within the state command, especially during the yuletide season.
