Estu Nupe advised Inmates to key into vocational programs available in the formation as he marks 21st years on the throne.
As part of the events marking the 21st anniversary and 72 years birthday celebration of His Royal Highness, Alh. Yahaya Abubakar CFR, the Etsu Nupe and chairman, Niger state Council of Traditional Rulers on the throne, the controller of corrections, Nigerian correctional service, Niger state command, CC Maikudi Garba Adamu psc has joined other important dignitaries to rejoice with the monarch at the medium security custodial centre Bida.
Controller of Corrections Maikudi Garba who received the Emir and his entourage on behalf of the CGCS, Haliru Nababa, FICMC, MFR, mni in Bida recently commended the monarch for identifying with the vulnerable inmates in the custody.
The Controller of Corrections Niger state Command, Maikudi Garba Adamu psc also thanked God for witnessing the historic event, adding that the kind gesture has gone along way to facilitate the core mandate of the service by giving the inmates a sense of hope and belonging.
He congratulates the Royal father Etsu Nupe Alhaji (Dr) Yahaya Abubakar on his 21st anniversary on the throne and 72 years birthday celebrations.
He prayed God to grant him long live, sound health and abundant blessings to witness many more happy birthdays and anniversaries for the progress and development of his domain and humanity in general particularly the less previleged.
Etsu Nupe,Alh. (Dr) Yahaya Abubakar CFR, in his address during the occasion called on the inmates of the facility to be law abiding and key into the educational and vocational programs available in the formation to positively transform their lives and become better persons after their sentences.
He assured the inmates and staff of his unwavering support to promote their wellbeing and welfare.
The Emir commended the management of the service for their untiring effort and selfless commitment to reform, rehabilate and reintegrate offenders of the law back to the society as useful and productive citizens.
In a vote of thanks, the officer in charge of Bida MSCC, SC. Musa G. Mohammed expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Emir and the members of the emirate council for the donation of food items, payment of fines for indigent inmates and provision of solar powered lights in the facility which according to him has boosted their morales to deliver more effective and efficient service.
