Acting Gov. Comrade Garba appreciates stakeholders, all residents of the state for not participating in the recent Nation wide protest.

The Acting Governor of Niger State, Comrade Yakubu Garba has expressed gratitude to all stakeholders and residents of the State for restraining themselves from active participation in the recent nationwide protest.
Comrade Garba in a statewide broadcast said the path of dialogue, commitment to unity, mutual respect demonstrated by the people of the State are commendable, adding that it reflected the very essence of collective dedication to the process and development of the State.
“ It is with a deep sense of responsibility that I stand before you today to express our heartfelt appreciation to all stakeholders and residents of our great state for restraining yourselves from active participation in the recent protest and choosing the path of dialogue. Your commitment to unity, mutual respect, and constructive dialogue is not just commendable, but it is the very essence of our collective dedication to the progress and development of Niger State. You, the esteemed stakeholders and residents, are the driving force behind our state’s progress.
“Therefore, I would like to extend our gratitude to the people, old and young, male and female; the leadership of National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Students Union Government (SUG), National Association of Niger State Students (NANISS), Artisan Association, Traditional Leaders, Imams Forum, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Vigilante Group, Road Transport Union,Marketers Association, and other key stakeholders. Your decision to honour your commitment and refrain from participating in the nationwide protest exemplifies your role as true partners in progress”.
The Acting Governor further commended the Commissioner of Police, heads of other security agencies, and the vigilante group for their relentless efforts and sacrifices to ensure the safety and stability of the communities during the period.
He also applauded the media and all practising journalists in the State for their tireless efforts in promoting government’s initiatives through their reportage.
The Acting Governor assured all residents of the State that the present administration is deeply committed to their welfare and well-being pointing out that initiatives such as selling of grains at a 50 percent discount across all the 25 local government areas is part of its ongoing efforts to support the people, adding that more will soon be rolled out.
While acknowledging their concerns, he promised that the State government will convey the feelings and aspirations of its citizens to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and would ensure that their interests are represented at the national level
“We will not hesitate to engage with the Federal Government to address the challenges facing our state and nation,” he stated.
He urged everyone to continue to show understanding and maintain faith in the administration, as they are determined to adopt innovative approaches to governance, and will always welcome constructive criticism aimed at enhancing the overall development of the State while remaining committed to transparency and accountability in all their actions.
The Acting Governor then regretted the unfortunate incident in Tafa Local Government that resulted in the destruction of properties
“Regrettably, we must address the unfortunate incident in Tafa Local Government that resulted in the loss of properties. Our hearts go out to the good people of Tafa Local Government”, he said.
He called on all residents to continue to collectively build a brighter and more prosperous Niger State.
