APC AMALGAMATED GROUP LOUDS PARTIES EXCLUSION ON ACTIVITIES.

The National Cordinator, Dr. AK PETERS said in a press conference in Abuja that exactly a month ago, the National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress APC, dissolved the parallel leadership of the Amalgamated APC Support Groups as a result of the irreconcilable differences that had polarized APC Support Groups along different lines and deprived Support Group Leaders from benefiting from the Government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu which they worked hard to enthrone.
He said the Amalgamated APC Support Groups AASG is the recognized umbrella body of all bonafide Support and Volunteer groups of the All Progressives Congress, APC and has the authority and imprimatur of the National Working Committee of the party to be the melting pot of all APC Support Groups and to coordinate the activities of APC Support and Volunteer groups at home and in the diaspora.
In the wake of the November 16, 2023 dissolution of the parallel leaderships of the Amalgamated APC Support Groups, and the leadership vacuum this action created in the Amalgamated APC Support Groups, the Think Tank of the Amalgamated APC Support Groups was birthed by some concerned leaders and members of the Amalgamated All Progressives Congress Support Groups (AASG) and accepted by the leaders of the defunct factions in AASG on one hand and the leaders of the Independent Coalition of APC Support Groups on the other hand, to hold the forth, serve as a mediator and; as a pathfinder to the future.
The Think Tank is a crack team of eggheads, top-notch experts in Political Party Conflict Resolution, and very loyal party men and women of proven track records and unquestionable integrity.
We are problem Solvers, solution providers and storm calmers, who provided a good way forward and a clear Road Map to genuine reconciliation of the uncompromising parties, allayed the palpable fears of Support Groups, dousing their tension and anger and averting the wrong decisions some Support Groups were planning to make – especially the decision to embark on a protest rally against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC – as it would have tantamounted to disloyalty, insubordination and a quasi mutiny.
We have kept the house solvent, and the engine of Amalgamated APC Support Groups well lubricated and steaming perfectly.
But to achieve maximum success, we strongly hereby recommend the following:
That the Party, in consultation with leaders of various APC Support Groups, set up a Care-taker Committee for the Amalgamated APC Support Groups with membership drawn from the six (6) Geo-political zones and a cast figure from the Party bringing the total number of the members of the committee to nineteen. The Caretaker Committee should not last for more than 90 days.
That Care-taker Committee be saddled with the responsibility of constituting a Constitution Drafting Committee to fashion a peoples constitution for the AASG within 45 days.
3. That the Care-taker Committee also appoints and inugurates an AASG Electoral Committee to conduct a free, fair, transparent and credible general and popularly contested election for the AASG within 28 days to usher in a new leadership for the Amalgamated APC Support Groups.
Gentlemen of the Press, it is no longer news that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu met Nigeria in an ailing state. We praise Mr. President’s courage and dexterity at reviving the ‘Can Do Spirit’ of Nigerians with the excellent decisions he is taking to bring the economy back on track.
We urge Nigerians to support Mr. President’s “Renewed Hope Agenda” as it is the only sure way to the Nigeria of our dream.
Let me also use this opportunity to reiterate that the AASG is not just anothe Support Group structure formed for the purposes of electioneering campaigns. The AASG is solely an integral part of the Party structure and wholely resides at the base of the party’s structural-functional system. The support groups were the engine room of the campaign and the foot soldiers of the party during the election.
We call on our father, leader, mentor, and Grand Master, His Excellency, Mr. President to also favourably consider us for appointments into his government as we have the best of brains, hands and leg that can bring the Renewed Hope Agenda to fruition.
We congratulate the leadership of the APC under the able stewardship of the National Chairman, His Excellency, Abdulahi Umar Ganduje PhD, CON for the fatherly manner he handled the Amalgamated APC Support Groups crisis.
We promise to remain loyal to the party and his office and person at all times. Through the National Organizing Secretary, Alh. Suleiman Argungu, the National Working Committee and National Executive Committee of the APC have robustly engaged Support Groups and ensured a sound working relationship. We praise this great effort.
