Kebbi Gov’t. pledges support to KAEDCO for improved electricity supply
The Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris has assured the Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company (KAEDCO) of necessary support to facilitate improved power supply to the state.
He stated this when the MD/CEO Kaduna Electricity Distribution company paid him a courtesy visit at Government House, Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday.
The governor assured that his administration was ready to support the company to boost electricity supply to Kebbi state for businesses to thrive across the state.
“I am going to involve all the stakeholders in this journey so that there will be sanity in the process. It is also a welcome development that the company will embark on sensitisation programme, this will go a long in creating awareness among electricity consumers,” he said.
While emphasising the need for the state to enjoy 24 hours power supply as hitherto experienced, the governor appealed to the management of KAEDCO to find a lasting solution to the present epileptic power supply to Kebbi State.
According to him, aggressive enlightenment campaign persuading consumers to pay their eelectricity bills will increase the company’s revenue regeneration and will thereby pave way for stable power supply.
Responding, the MD/CEO Kaduna Electricity Distribution company, Engr. Yusuf Usman Yahaya told the governor that they were in Government House to congratulate the governor on his victory at polls and to also establish a synergy between the company and the State Government.
He expressed concern over non payment of monthly electricity bills by the consumers and appealed to the state government to support the company by advising people on the importance of prompt payment of monthly electricity bills.
The MD pledged support and cordial working relationship with the new administration in the state as it had been with the previous administration.
