CC SALMAN INAUGURATES PAROLE BOARD OF NIGER STATE COMMAND:

The controller of Corrections, Niger state command, Salman Abdulkadir fsi, has today 21st December, 2022, supervised the affirmation and inauguration of the pioneer members of the Niger state parole board under the chairmanship of the former chief judge of Niger state, Rtd Hon justice Mohammed Aliyu Maiyaki.
It would be recalled that the, CGC has recently, inaugurated the parole board at the national level,in pursuant to section 40 of the Nigerian correctional service Act 2019, which vested the powers on him to constitute and appoint committee members to administer the effective implementation of the act across the thirty six states of the federation including the FCT.
Delivering his welcome speech at the epoch making event, the controller of Corrections, Salman Abdulkadir fsi, thanked the chairman and members of his Board for accepting the national call to service and wished them all the best in their maiden assignment.
On his part, the Assistant Controller General of Correctional Service, and zonal coordinator zone ‘D ‘Headquarters Minna, ACG TINUOYE Timothy Olumide who represented the CGC at the colourful ceremony,congratulated the Chairman and Members of the Parole Board on their worthy appointments.
The CGC added that the none custodial measures introduced by the service needs a lot of wealth of experience from Personalities especially, those who displayed impeccable track records of justice system administration in order to succeed in this onerous task of humanitarian gesture of Reforming, Rehabilitating and Reintegrating those who falls foul of the law as law abiding and productive citizens that would contributes to the growth and development of themselves and by extension to the society.
In a goodwill message, the chairman of the magistrates Association of Nigeria, MAN, Niger state Branch, represented by H/W Christiana Barau commended the new innovation taking place in the present Nigerian correctional service.
The MAN chairman, further stated that the issue of congestion of Custodial centres across the state shall be a thing of the past particularly, having the former Chief Judge, justice Aliyu Maiyaki as Chairman of Board
The MAN Chairman then expressed her optimism and confidence in the leadership of the parole Board.
In his vote of thanks,the officer incharge,Non custodial measures designate CSC. Alhassan Isa Gulu, on behalf of the controller of Corrections, Niger state, thanked all those who attended the historic occasion despite their various tight schedule, while wishing them journey mercy to their respective destinations.
