BARR. Usman Celebrates Abdulsalami Abubakar on His 84th Birthday, Reaffirms His Contributions to Democracy
A former Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly and APC candidate for Lavun/Edati/Mokwa Federal Constituency in the 2027 elections, Barrister Adamu Usman, has sent his congratulations to former Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar, on the occasion of his 84th birthday.
The celebration included the launch of three books written in his honor at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
In a heartfelt message, Barrister Usman expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for preserving the elder statesman in good health and sound mind to celebrate another year of life.

He highlighted General Abdulsalami Abubakar’s bravery, patriotism, and unwavering commitment to national service, especially his pivotal role in guiding Nigeria’s peaceful transition from military rule to democracy in 1999.
Barrister Usman credited the strong foundation Abdulsalami built during this transition with Nigeria’s steady democratic growth over the past 27 years.
He also praised Abdulsalami’s ongoing efforts to promote peace and unity through the National Peace Committee, emphasizing its importance in fostering trust among Nigeria’s diverse ethnic, religious, and political groups.
The former Speaker described Abdulsalami as a distinguished military officer who served honorably, a respected agriculturist, and a philanthropist dedicated to improving lives across tribes and faiths.
He applauded Nigeria’s democratic progress under Abdulsalami’s leadership, which has empowered citizens to choose their leaders through credible elections.
Additionally, Barrister Usman noted that the democratic system established by Abdulsalami has improved Nigeria’s international reputation.
On behalf of his family, he prayed for many more years of good health, strength, and wisdom for Abdulsalami so he can continue his valuable contributions to humanity and the nation’s development.
